Supporting Recovery
While prevention is our foundation, we also recognize and support the journey of recovery. We stand with individuals and families impacted by Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and honor the courage it takes to seek help and healing. The coalition works alongside local recovery organizations to support access to services, resources, and community-based care.
Recovery strengthens our community — and by lifting each other up, we build a culture of support, empathy, and hope.
Reducing Stigma
Stigma remains one of the greatest barriers to both prevention and recovery. That’s why the GREAT Prevention Coalition is committed to reducing the shame and misunderstanding often associated with addiction and mental health struggles.
We believe in:
Promoting education that fosters empathy over judgment
Creating safe spaces for open, honest conversations
Encouraging respectful, people-first language
Sharing real stories that humanize the challenges and victories of those impacted
When we reduce stigma, we create stronger connections, open more doors to help, and build a community where everyone matters.
